I don’t know about you guys, but these days I’m all about the terpenes. From Terp Sauces to Terpene Distillations, I can’t get enough of these delicious essential oils that make up the flavors and aromas of cannabis. On a recent trip to my local dispensary, I found another newer terpene based extract in the Chemdawg Terp Slushee from Dorado Extracts out of Washington State for $25 USD a gram. I had recently sampled their Purps #1 Slushee so I was very excited to get a chance to give this Chemdawg a try. Now, to give you a little background, Chemdawg is a highly renowned strain that has some very mysterious origins. Some say it’s a hybrid cross between Thai and Nepalese landrace strains while others claim it came from a bag seed at a Grateful Dead concert. Either way, it is known for being an intoxicating treat that is widely respected throughout the Cannabis community.

My first impression of the Chemdawg Terp Slushee was the beautiful golden color of this extract as well its consistency, which reminded me of thick honey. As soon as the jar was opened I was instantly hit in the face with a bouquet of aromas from diesel to lemons that stunk up the entire room. I decided to use my Mobius Glass Bubbler for this session and as soon as my nail dug into the Slushee I was easily able to grab a healthy-sized dab. Once my nail made contact with the quartz banger I was hit in the palate with delicious citrus and gas flavors that filled my lungs. Upon exhale, I could feel the fade set in almost right away as the flavors of the Chemdawg lingered on my tongue for the next few minutes. This was some extremely heady gear that had me sweating from my forehead and searching for the ice water to help me deal with the heavy cottonmouth the Chemdawg brought with it. This Terp Slushee was no joke as I was in a deep fade for a good two hours. I was able to barely function but I wasn’t completely couch-locked which I truly enjoyed. The Chemdawg was able to relieve my pain and provide me with some great stress and anxiety relief but I wouldn’t recommend this strain for insomnia as it had me in deep thought for much of the night.

Overall, the Chemdawg Terp Slushee was definitely a winner. I wouldn’t say this is a Cup level extract but it’s absolutely up in the top tier. When it came to her flavor and pungency, the Chemdawg had deep flavors of diesel and lemon with a hint of pine in the back. I was able to taste the terpenes well after exhale so I gave the Chemdawg Terp Slushee a score of 9.5/10. When it came to her strength and potency, this is where the Chemdawg truly shined. Every time I dabbed the Slushee, I was left fully ripped and didn’t seem to build up any tolerance to this extract so I had to give it a score of 9.7/10. For my money, this was right up there with pretty much any extract I’ve had recently so If you are lucky enough to find this on a shelf near you, do not hesitate to grab it up as you won’t be disappointed.
